    My tactical duo!

A while back I was trying to decide on another shotgun, as I had sold the first one I had to a buddy who wanted a HD weapon. I couldn't decide between the Benelli Super Nova or 870. I ended up going with the 870 again just because I was familiar with it. I had shot a Benelli Super Nova in the past and really enjoyed it, and target acquisition was quick and I hit everything I aimed at (was shooting various targets out in the middle of nowhere). I really liked the ghost ring sights too.

Today I received a bonus from work, and decided to go look at some guns. I was expecting to maybe get a Nova with the regular stock because that is all they had last time I was there, but my gun dealer had the exact one I shot before. Needless to say, I picked one up, can't wait to try this puppy out!

Nice. That's something that's definitely lacking from my collection.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, I really like my two shotguns and have been stocking up on shotgun shells (mostly 00 buckshot and slugs) like crazy. The Super Nova will more or less be my dedicated slug gun and is also my new primary home defense weapon system. The 870 has been retired to the safe as a back up shotgun and if things get ugly in the future, I have an extra shotgun to arm a family member or a friend of mine.

Another reason I bought the Super Nova is for when I go camping. The 870 Express is not as resistant to moisture and its usually a good idea to have a gun in case of bears and maybe, just maybe crazy people. Once you're outside the major towns and cities in Alaska, there isn't an LEO for miles.
