    1. I don't know so I won't speculate

    2. I've seen a few on gunbroker.com, but look around at your local gunsNammo or hunting stores and you MAY get lucky.

    3. Orig. List New: $639, - Bayonet: $564, + Tax $610.30 More than I wanted to spend but I was tired of looking around for the exact gun I wanted and didn't want to settle. The only thing I settled on was the 20" barrel instead of 18.5"

    4. You can mount anything that will accept a picatinny or weaver rail once you install them. There was one already installed on the receiver (Where the rear Ghost Ring is mounted). Next I will add a fore-end with more rails to mount a light and maybe a laser.

    5. I'm sorry to hear that but I'll take it as a compliment

The LOP is a bit long for me also, but its definitely manageable. I ordered a Knoxx SpecOps stock but before it gets here I'm going to the range this weekend to put 6 boxes of slugs through so I can get used to the sights and how it feels with the regular stock.

My girl is in VERY good shape and she can barely hold it up steady enough to aim after 20 or 30 seconds, and that was while it was empty.
I loaded it with 8 3" slugs and 9 2.75" to see the difference and I have to say it was like putting a bike in the bed of a truck, when it weighs that much, adding a little bit more didn't seem to make much difference.

Still I might think about a 500 series for her because I don't want her to have to fight it when(if) she really needs it to work for her

i have a couple of the 590s. when i shot the winchester rifled slugs i found out just how bad the gun kicks. i also took one of my 590's and had a screw in choke installed, very happy with that, now i can also turkey hunt with it. and i like some choke on the gun. i matched the threads to my remingtons so i could share the chokes.

Be advised! Because of the location of the Mossberg safety, when you mount a pistol-grip stock (Knox Spec Ops) it puts your hand out of convenient position from which to select between "safe" & "fire". Great gun, good pick... just didn't know if you had realized the issue.

Ghost Tracker - I've heard that, but I think for me the recoil compensation and shorter LOP outweigh the disadvantage of losing the more preferable hand position - that being said, I haven't physically held the gun with the Knoxx stock yet, is it really a pain to get to the safety? Will it delay me noticeably in a HD situation enough that it is dangerous?

Depending on how long your fingers are, you may be able to manipulate the Mossberg safety while keeping your thumb on the pistol grip. The other course is to just ignore the safety entirely. Keep it off at all times and just keep the chamber empty until you're ready to engage. With a pump shotgun it's real easy to just cycle the action as you mount it. This is the way John Farnam teaches his students to run a shotgun, since most shotgun safeties aren't drop safe anyway.

I agree, in fact I was debating this point with my girl who is by no means an ANTI but still somewhat worried about a loaded shotgun with the safety off in our place.

Very nice. I have one with the 18.5 barrel, GR sights. Slightly better maneuverability at the cost of decreased capacity. But I did get it with the Speedfeed stock which holds a handy extra 4 shells.

Bit front heavy b/c of the barrel, but IMO THE best HD/SD pump shotgun for the $.
