I was looking into their AK-47 clones based on the Saiga rifle. Anybody owned or fired one of these? Feel free to offer any comments, rocks or bottles in regards to this particular maker. Thanks in advance.

I have an Arsenal SA-93 rifle. Milled, not stamped. NIB.

You want it? $1200 takes it. Shipping to FFL, from FFL only. I'll even throw in 12 30 round mags and two 5 round mags.

An Arsenal AK? Top of the line in my book. I have an SLR-95. Close to the last of the imports...milled receiver and quality workmanship. Not an AK specialist myself, but I got what I wanted when the time was right, and it's served me well. Far as I know, Arsenal still puts out quality AK's here in the U.S. and they are limited production. I don't have any experience with the newer models made in the homeland, but my Bulgarian made Arsenal is tops in my book, and I'd have no qualms about dying with it in my hands if I run out of ammo.
Yes...I've shot the living fire out of mine, and it always brings a smile to my face and others as well. There are a couple of AK specialists here that you haven't heard from yet, so I'll leave it at that.

Regardless of the reciever I'd say Arsenal makes fine quality defensive rifles. Good luck

You would be very hard-pressed to find a better quality commercially made AK than those made my Arsenal. Only thing I can think of that could possibly be better is made by Mark Krebs of Krebs Custom, but it'll cost ya.

Check out the SGL-20 for a currently produced AK by them, they're modified Saigas, and very nicely made. I don't own one, but I have shot one a few times at the range (and got jealous of the rifle's owner while doing it.)

Edit: After re-reading your post I realized that you were asking about the Saiga conversions. SLR-106 and 107 are also beautifully put together weapons, but I've never fired either.

Arsenal Bulgaria is good stuff. The finish not always something stellar but its an AK47 after all.

My SA-93 (on the right of course) after unbanning and making 922r compliant...
