Does anybody have any experience with the Crimson trace vertical grip combo light/laser?
Originally was considering the surefire m900/910 as an add on for an ar15. I know of surefire's quality and customer service.
The price difference however is approximately 400 for the crimson trace and greater than 500 for the surefire.
I've never used the Crimson Trace combo but I have used two of the Surefire M910/900 series VFG light combo's. Their good kit, I just didn't like the position of the white light underneath my barrel.
I've since switched to using a VFG and an Daniel Defense offset mount with an inexpensive Surefire G2 LED (80 lumens/12 hours of battery run time) and my thumb on the tailcap for momentary and constant on white light.
You can't go wrong with Surefire though.
Personally I don't see the need for anymore than 80 lumens of white light, in any situation. The M900 series does bleed out over 100+ lumens but only has a battery run time of about an hour or so. The standard lamp gives your 125 lumens for an hour and high output lamp gives your 225 lumens for 20 minutes of total runtime. I don't want to change batteries that often, assuming your using white light often but sparingly.
A decent mount and a Surefire G2 LED with an inexpensive VFG will serve just about anyones needs without having to spend $600+
