He may have been thinking about the Mossberg. I've made the mistake once or twice...

My vote also goes to "get the 870". It's your duty gun, you want to retain familiarity, and it's a good dun. I am not the shotgun connoisseur that others here are, but excepting the semi-custom and custom over-unders the Remmy 870 Police is my favorite shotgun. I like the extra attention to detail and refinement that goes into the Police model versus the normal Express model.

If I were in your situation with Remington 870's all around, I'd stay with the familiar.

There is nothing wrong with the 870.

For HD I chose the Mossberg 590, 20", with a mag tube which holds (8) 2.75" or (7) 3" shells.

I mounted a Streamlight Polytac light on a LaserLyte mag tube mount ADP-TRIR-140, and a 6 round side saddle that I don't really care for too much... It seems like whatever business would need to be conducted would be handled with the mag tub capacity.

I don't even sell them anymore. I think I may still have one up for auction.

You get so many more options with the 870 and its been around for a very long time. The Super Nova is a gun I can take out camping or hiking with me and not worry about rust because the receiver is polymer coated and the inside of the barrel is chrome lined. It's my "beater" shotgun!

However there is also the 870 Marine Magnum which is nice too!
I LOVE my 2 870's! but I am eyeballing a 870 Marine Magnum at Great Northern Guns.

I have no Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12/18/3" in stock. I can tell you this. It is not the best 870 made IMO. MSRP is $772.00 No reputable dealer ever sells at MSRP. If you pay a dime more you are wasting good money.

We 2 day air ship to AK & HI.

If you want a nice 870 or Mossberg 500 email me or call.

No doubt the 870 is an excellent choice. I would not give up my cruser either.

Benelli's are beautiful guns, but you could not go wrong with an 870 Tactical for the house. You are familiar with the platform, and could swap out the stock for a 12"L.O.P. Hogue and throw on a SureFire light and you have a GREAT HD shottie! I own that combo and it's in my bedroom closet ready to go!

Jambing is the most common problem with the express models. I just did not want to put up with more complaints, user error in pumping or not.

    Gotchya

Just wondering if there was a major function issue that I missed before I purchased the gun....I love mine.

They only time mine has jammed is when I'm weak on the pump.....So I just treat the pump the same I do when I rack the slide on a hand gun...use a bit of force.

Plus I replaced the cheese factory follower with the cool green Wilson follower. Maybe that solved a problem that was waiting to happen.

So if you don't sell the express, does that mean you only carry the Marine Magnum and the Wingmaster?

I bought a synthetic express...still haven't had it to the range yet, but I hope I don't have problems with it.
