Letting my curiosity get the better of me. Why was the barrel nut orange?

And you do know why people complained, right?

Thanks my friend, we had a major snow storm (at least for us) here over the weekend in NC and I am getting a bit of cabin fever and need to get out and shoot. At least the snow gives me some cool gun porn shooting opportunities.

From my very limited knowledge of long guns...
Lancaster Arms, Russian Red chambered in 7.62 x 39mm
She has her first 100 rounds down the pipe, out of the box the sight adjustment was way off, about 5 inches high and left, at 50 yards, but that seems to be corrected.
Hubby has wanted one for a few months. I ordered it for Christmas, it got here a month late, the day before his birthday, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Good deal. Just a little info - When zeroing the irons, you should set the slider to 1 (or 100) and zero at 25 yards. Fine tune it at 100. Then slide it back to "P". This is the default Battle Zero and should keep the shots minute of man out to 300 yards. May be why it was a little high at 50.

This is a nice thread. Lots of AKs to look at here. I never have owned an AK but the best renditions of the design have a reputation for stubborn dependability. The 7.62X39 looks more appealing than a .223 as an intermediate rifle round. What's not to like?

I also really like the Remington Model 511 .22 rifle that Ram Rod snuck into his photo.
