Well, not new exactly. After my dad died recently, I found my old 20 ga. single-shot Ithaca shotgun in his closet. Haven't seen it in nearly 40 years.
At one time during my youth, I chopped it! I checked FL SBS regs and found it's still legal. (barrel >18 in/ overall length >26 inches). After cleaning it up I'm going to use it for a panic gun, with 3" #2 buck. 18 pellets ought to at least scare someone off. There's a Glock 30 on hand as back-up.

Ithaca pump .20 ga was my first shotgun. Good reliable gun. Like you said it should "scare" an invader.
