I just got my new baby from KTP. A 98% M 1 Super 90. It included the Aimpoint in the picture, which was pulled off for shipping, but right now it is "naked". It looks 100% and NIB but for the taped holes for the Aimpoint.
I have not decided what to do with the Aimpoint, which includes everything it came with new, including the Aimpoint book.
Feel free to share your ideas and suggestions. I am planning on a sling, and selecting new sights, but otherwise this is a clean slate so to speak. I will add a three or four shell magazine extension. Personally though, I tend to keep my guns fairly "stock".
If you make suggestions, if you can, please note sources.
set it up and practice.. being a 870 fan it took me a few training sessions to get confidence in running an auto.. But now its the first thing I would grab when home.

That's exactly the sling I've ordered, and I love the shell holder - that style feels much better to me than the offside receiver models. I ordered the three round magazine extension, and the tritium front is a must have. Thanks for the ideas.
Here's mine, 7 round mag, Insight M3X light, Specter Gear shell holder. The only other addition I’ve made is a set of the GR night sights. I’ve used it for a couple classes and I like this setup.
To be honest, the night sights are about useless with the light, you just don’t need them. They do come in handy for dealing with muskrats and beavers on my pond though.
I like the pistol mounted lights because they allow me to switch the light from platform to platform if I need to, or just slide the light off for practice. I’ve got 4 of the same basic lights:
If you've already got a mag extension and sling, then the only other things I would add would be the Benelli GRS with inserts, and maybe a light. If you want to add a light with a pic mount, then you might consider the Mesa Tactical or Nordic Components magazine and barrel clamps with pic rails. Both fit the M1 and are solidly built.
Be careful about adding weight to the M1. Depending on where the weight is, it can affect the inertia-driven action and contribute to FTE's and FTF's. Folks have found this to be true with accessories like sidesaddles and such. For that reason, you might want to consider the Surefire Forend for the M1/M2 (depending on your shotgun's S/N). This puts the weight in line with the barrel, though I'm not aware of any problems with any other light mounts.
Use the Aimpoint to start building that scout rifle you've had in the back of your mind and didn't know it.

Nice set-up!

I'd heard that about the inertia-driven action. A scout rifle....Hmmmmm :) Superb idea!
