Mossberg 930 SPX or a WASR 10/63
930SPX, without a second thought...

Based on just the OP (no context) I'd have to say the WASR. They're so much fun and so cheap to feed...
Maudite's got it right. Depends on the purpose.
The 930 SPX is a very good firearm. Well made, semi-auto, 6-8rds, ghost ring sights. A great companion to a 590-A1. Every bit the high-quality pair that the Remington 870P and 11-87P are.
For under $1K (street), these two would be just about right for me:
- Mossberg 930 SPX, 12ga, 18.5" bbl, 8rds, ghost ring sights, 7.75 lbs.
- Mossberg 590-A1 SBS, 12ga, heavy 14" bbl, 6rds, ghost ring sights, 6.75 lbs.
The 930,hitting birds with an AK takes too much practice

Um, isn't the Mossberg 930 SPX a shotgun?
If i was inside my house, a shotgun. If it was outside my house, neither. I live in a suburb!
(If I lived in a rural area and had to go outside, the WASR. I love my WASR since it's cheap, fairly accurate [If I can't hit it, it's too far away to be a threat], and fun.)
I love my AK, but I'd say the 930

WASR 10/63 if you can stand the underfolder. Some can't.
Which one would you rather have?
I've always liked Biel over Alba.
My name is Frogman46 and I'm tougher than you.
For home defense, I'm assuming?
I love my WASR, but between the two I'd go with the Mossberg 1st. The 12 gauge can fill both short range and medium range roles depending upon what it's loaded with, so if I could only choose one, it'd be the shotgun.

Like everyone said, depends on the purpose.
Right now, I'd say 930. I already have the WASR.
If I didn't, I'd probably say WASR. So much fun to shoot.
An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.
