Kel Tec Sub 2000

I have been looking for a Sub 2000 for 2 years. Saturday I walked into a local sporting goods store AND WHAT DID I SEE? A .40 S&W with Glock grip. It now lives at my house. A couple of high cap magazines, add-on Picatinny rails for hanging cool stuff on, and it's ready to rock & roll.

I guess it doesn't take much to entertain me

Those are just fun guns...easy to keep mags for. and if you already have a Glock that much better. Congrats. Should be a fun range gun and possibly HD piece.

I have a 40 s&w sub 2000 also. Mine doesn't lock up too well when folded and part of the grip broke off.

I contacted kel-tec via email and they got back to me within 2 days telling me to send it in and they would replace it and pay for my shipping.

Good service from a good company. Nice buy btw.

I'm looking for one that will take Glock 19 mags. I've seen them locally for the G17 mags, but I really don't want to buy a bunch of mags when I already have plenty of G19 ones.

I've been salivating for one in 9mm, but haven't found one yet. It'd be awesome if Keltec decided to make me one that used xd mags...

Very fun little carbine. I have had this 9mm model (uses Hi Cap 17 round Beretta mags) for 6 years and its been a reliable and fun plinker that would also make a great truck or HD option.

One of the weak points of the gun is the plastic OEM front sight. I replaced the OEM front site with a aluminum AR style front sight made for the S2K by Blueforce and its a major improvement. I can co-witness now with this setup and the mounted red dot sight.

A local small PD agency uses the .40 as a duty carbine. They stand up to cop abuse and they were a lot more affordable than ARs for this small department.

Pistol caliber carbines I guess by nature are CQB type weapons but that being said I can hit a paper plate consistantly at 100 yards shooting with the pod from a prone position with only the red dot site (no magnification). I would think hitting a man size target out to 150 yards would be doable before bullet drop from the 9mm gets to extreme. I need to try that with some metal gong targets.

You may want to consider adding a bolt buffer to your carbine. It makes a good deal of difference in felt recoil with these small rifles. It really works, I have one in my S2K. Tacticool Products - SUB-2000 Buffer Cylinder

Its only $10 including shipping and is easy very to install just takes a couple minutes.
The only issue is the bolt operating handle no longer locks back into the notch to keep the ejection port open because the buffer thickness prevents the bolt from traveling that far back by about a half inch. It does not effect operation or functioning of the gun in any way, and all you need to do is as I did I just notch out and lenghten the slot for the bolt handle and it now works as normal (see the demo on the web site). I used a drimel and it was very easy to do. It just slightlt lenghens the notch so the bolt will hold open with the buffer installed.
