Help!! I posted my S&W 908S for sale on one of my local gun boards for 380.00 figuring I would get tallked down to 325-350.00. The gun is in great condition and only has about 500 rounds through it. A guy sends me a message stating that he would trade me a NIB doublestar AR-15 with a YMH rear site for the 908 and 300 dollars. I have been wanting a AR for some time now but don't know much about them. Does this sound like a good trade to you AR guys?

Doublestar is fairly new on the AR scene and appears to source some good parts. I would look the gun over and make sure it hasn't been horribly abused, and that's it's not just somebody's "franken"-build parts gun.
But $300 out of pocket for an AR isn't bad... it'll probably be at least as good as an Olympic or DPMS.

It's been awhile since I was at a gun show, but I seem to remember a DoubleStar was about $800 that day - 4 or 5 months ago.
I bought 3 DoubleStar lowers awhile back. I built them with Bravo Company BCG's and uppers. I've had no complaints with the lower.

I've built several rifles from Double star lowers,you can put a gun together for about $650.00,so he is basically offering you around 350.00 to 400.00 for your gun

He's asking what, $700 for the Double Star? I dunno, that's $30-ish more than what Bud's is selling them for if you just sold the pistol and bought the AR yourself.

Defensive Carry Search Tips
