Perp had female student in headlock.LEO fired 8 shots, 7 contributed to the demise of the perp. 1 killed the girl.

Story here: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/05/19...al-record.html

Perp was armed... Did he have a gun or a knife to the lady's throat, head...?

As I've explored before... If he had a gun to her head, shooting will not stop his trigger pull... Even if it's a head shot.

Sad story.

Yeah, I got tapatalk, too. So what?

Belt leather: what is the best leather to look for?

If you're a belt-maker or work in leather, can you clarify something? What is the best, most-durable leather that we should look for as the base materials in any quality "gun" belt.

Goal is to avoid the run-of-the-mill leathers that some sub-par belt makers use for belts claimed to be suitable for carrying heavy sidearms. What area of the animal should the hide be from (ie, along the spine)? What thickness? Double-hide, bonded and sewn, or a single thick hide? Am looking to avoid break-down over time, greatest ability to withstand heavy loads/twisting, avoiding aging/cracking of the surface and finish, etc. Seems to me that the selection of the leather hide itself is key, to all of this.

Comments from Brommeland Leather, about leather/stitching selection: click.

I have been looking to pick an M&Pc for awhile, and Sportsmen's Den in Shelby finally got some in stock. I went over today to pick one up, and they had several. They also had full size M&Ps and some Glocks, as well. I saw a 17, a 19, a 20s and a few others. They also had reasonably (comparatively) priced ammo, with no limits on quantities. I gave $499+tax for the M&P and $34.99 for 100 rounds of American Eagle 9mm. The gun counter was nearly deserted and my BC took about two minutes.

You have to love Bill Maher. In this video clip he says the Second Amendment is BS but yet he owns guns. And it just so happens there have been multiple home invasions in his neighborhood. He would shoot someone, but all guns are bad. I am sorry, but my head hurts right now. :aargh4:

So, they're using AK47 pistols, and Tec 9s. For gang shootings, and they're throwing away the guns... Must not have any trouble getting replacements?

I don't understand why they would dump the guns, really... Could the guns be "planted?" To further the "agenda?"

In the first shooting in this video, the victim is surrounded by shell casings, but no gun.

Elsewhere in the city, shooters spray bullets, kill no one, wound some, and leave the guns behind? Why?

One of those things that makes you wonder, if everything we see in the news is real.

Tried my new Old Faithful Holsters gun belt this morning, wow!

I'd been using a 5.11 for the past couple years. It was good but recently starting wearing out and got soft.

This is has the Kydex reinforcement between the leather.

Huge improvement over the 5.11! It's twice as thick and stiff!

Best $70 I've spent in a while!
