Simple question: What is the story on this? Is it a Bass Pro exclusive? It comes in a very colorful red and black box and in both FMJ and JHP flavors. The JHP is $21.99 for 50 and they bullets have a black colored jacket (cue Black Talon memories). I have never seen it anywhere except BPS. Can anyone enlighten me?

Planning on picking up a G19 in the next couple weeks, however, I feel I chose a terrible time to purchase my first 9mm. I picked up a 250 round box of Remington UMC today simply because it was reasonably priced, I own no 9mm rounds, and it's the only 9mm ammo I have seen on shelves around here in a while. My question is how do the UMC rounds perform? What other target loads do you recommend? Lastly, what 9mm defensive round do you prefer?

Hi,new here and the first question that I would like to put forward is about these hotter than the norm rounds. I purchased online, four boxes of Buffalo Bore .32 ACP +p 75gr. flat nosed rounds. I did not notice the +p notation or it wasn't listed that way on the site. I have spent most of this morning trying to really make sense of the p+ & +p concept. Way too much varying info. Regardless, I presume that I should not have bought them. I have a 1914 Mauser pocket pistol actually made in 1913. The gun is in tremendous condition. It looks like it lived in a night stand and was rarely if ever shot much. Would the consensus here be to never put them through this gun? Or could I use them just for CC. Will they actually make the gun go bang louder Or could they destroy this gun with a single shot. I know this kind of round will shorten its lifespan if used repeatedly. I wanted more of a defensive round for carrying and they were all I could find. Many folks believe that the FMJ with deeper penetration is better than a flared shallower hole from a JHP. What do you all think?

So I've noticed a trend. The big box stores like Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas and to a lesser extent Gander Mountain haven't been gouging their ammo prices much if any at all. They also have restrictions on how many boxes you can buy. Helps keep demand down. A little.

Shooting ranges will sell you one box per session. Their prices are almost always slightly higher but not terrible.

Now look at the online retailers. Ammunition to Go. Lucky Gunner. Ammunition Depot. Yup that's right. They're gouging you. Arms list and Gunbroker? Holy hell. Someone call the price police!

So moral of the story: just buy from the big box guys and at the range. Stop buying online and feeding these greedy fools the money they are asking for. Most of them buy from the big box guys to sell online!

I say boycott them. Only buy from companies that have good sales sense and a moral compass. Buy from gun ranges who are keeping us shooting. Say no to the online crooks. Make them sweat and see their investments tied up with nowhere to go.

Then and only then will ammo prices start falling again, and prospectors will flood the market with boxes of ammo they can no longer sell for stupid prices.

Let's do this together. What say you?

So at least in this area I tend to agree its going to be more of this for the rest of the year ....
All I know is, someplace or many places there is a Hell of an amount of Ammo , OK I have a small amount, but I cant shoot as much that's for sure. At times I wonder, is it too much ? I mean I could not carry it all, and damn its heavy and takes up room . At what point is it enough ? I mean if tomorrow you could not find any......Oh that is now. Pondering ....

I have an M&P 9 and Kahr CM9 for home defense and concealed carry respectively. I've been practicing extensively with both over the past few months in anticipation of receiving my CHP in the next few weeks. With the exception of a dented case on a round of WWB that jammed in the chamber of my M&P and a slide that failed to lock back on the CM9 on a magazine of cheap reload stuff I bought at the range, I've had zero problems with ammo after a total of about 1200 rounds through both guns.

I have been looking at various offerings of self defense ammo, and obviously the prices dictate limited use at the range. That said, how many rounds do you put through a gun before you are confident that it will work when you need it? I have no problem putting enough rounds through the guns to verify compatibility, but I also don't want to shoot 1000 rounds at a dollar apiece to get there.

I've got some cheap Federal hollow point rounds that I keep loaded with the guns in the safe and that seemed to go through both guns fine in limited quantities.

How much is enough?
