Storing Hoppes in a tupperware container

    Hey guys,

Does anyone have any experience with reusing Hoppes? I read it will eventually loose it's cleaning ability but I like the idea of soaking my barrel in a Tupperware container with Hoppes #9 while cleaning the rest of my weapon. If I only intend to re use the Hoppes 2-3 times, will it be potent enough to clean the barrel good?

A good soaking would be a good start but I would be tempted to use a glass instead of plastic container. Something like a wide mouth mason jar that i could seal.

    another vote for glass
or place the plastic container in a glass dish so when it is eaten through the clean up will be easier...
as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.

Powder solvents will lose their potency as you expose them to powder. I guess you could make a bath dish & see how long the solvent will work before it becomes inert, but I would exclusively use it as a bath and not use the solvent from there for any detail work. I also vote for glass over plastic.
