Use brass tumbler to clean slide and barrel?

Just popped up in my head... What do you guys think? To get the carbon off... maybe not the slide (not to clog up the firing pin hole) unless I fully disassemble the slide

I think you're more likely to remove the finish on the outside than the carbon buildup on the inside.

I thought about that.

But it's a glock, the tennifer is not really a finish/coat

I assume you are not planning to use a rotary tumbler with stainless steel shot?

The tennifer is imbedded with the steel. The black outer finish will come off.

Tumblers are made for cleaning brass, Hoppes for cleaning guns.

Much prefer chemical cleaning - especially with the non-toxic alternatives out there; quicker and you'll still have to clean the dust/media from the parts.

Why would you. Hopes or other cleaners should do the job just fine.

I think you really really shouldn't.Throw it in the dishwasher like everyone else
