Lubricating a Pistol, Where and How Much?

I have a Glock 36, Kahr PM9, 2-XD's, 9mm and 45, and a LCP. None of the manuals go into real detail of what to lube, they just say to lube. So what all needs lubricated and how much. Looking for maybe a good picture showing lube points or something like that. Thanks

Well, if you consider the mechanics of the device, you can usually figure out where to lubricate.

For your Kahr:

For your Glock and XD:

And your LCP may have a specific thread somewhere that someone else can come along and point out.

In general, lube any metal on metal contact points, springs, and pins that are free to rotate.

For Glocks 2-3 drops of oil maximum !!!
Most are over-lubricated.

Lube depends upon use. Are you storing it for the winter? Are you carrying it constantly or leaving it in the glove box/console of your vehicle for use? If it's a storage pistol and used on occasion, lube it up maestro. If it's a pistol you're going to use regularly, be more conservative.
