Just saying...but ****** I want to go shoot it immediately afterwards
So just finished cleaning my EDC weapon…love the smell of Hoppe's solvent and Break Free...was a LONG overdue cleaning. There was no shortage of lint and dust in my HK...damn desert. Not to mention I've probably put about 150 rds through it since the last cleaning.
So if I don't practice w/my EDC weapon I'll probably go 2 months between cleanings...although I rarely go 2 months w/out shooting it...
I set everything up on a dishtowel...Q-tips, brushes, pads, solvent, oil...generally while I watch either baseball (go Red Sox!) or the news. Often wondered what my neighbors would think if they ever got a look at the process...you know, breaking down and meticulously cleaning, scrubbing, re-cleaning, oiling, and wiping down my weapons while *insert politician here* is on TV lol...
You? What's your cleaning routine? Admit it…some of you probably don’t hardly ever bother do you? (Looking at you Glock owners! I had a Glock for 4 yrs and cleaned it ONCE…never had a single malfunction or degredation in consistency).

Hah good thread, my friend and i after shooting we would go back to his place which was closer to the range than from my house. First things first we would throw some burgers on the grill and get the beer out the fridge and into a cooler. After we got done chowin down on a couple burgers we would sit at the pool side table and take out the guns. We would both strike up a fresh cigar and pop a top, then we would start to clean, he had a privacy fence in his backyard so neighbors couldn't see us but i would imagine what they would think seeing to men with cigars hanging outta there mouths and guns in hand. That would have been funny, but that used to be the routine.

I clean mine every time after I shoot them, its a good habit to get into. And those that sit in the safe and don't get shot very often (I have one revolver I haven't shot in 2-3 years, blasphemy I know), still get a good cleaning 2-3 times a year.

I clean my guns after every trip to the range. You guys should be ashamed!
The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is the worst handgun in history to take apart, but is one of the funnest to shoot...

weapons cleaned and lubed after every outing, wheter range trips or hunting trips. Carry gun cleaned and lubed, or carefully inspected at least weekly. House gun(s) get relubed at least monthly. Safe guns aired out every 2 months and checked. I really like my guns

I clean weekly. After every trip to the range. So does Bunny Jr.

If I shoot it, I clean it the same day...no exceptions!

I clean all my guns after each range session. I clean my carry gun (usually a Glock!) every 3-4 weeks even if it has not been fired, to get rid of lint and dust.
Generally I'll sit at my desk and listen to the radio, and drink a Coke or two while cleaning.

I'm going to add onto my original post, in the Marine Corps they teach us to never sleep with dirty weapons. So in the field, they get cleaned multiple times a day. If your weapon leads a hard life, you would be surprised how much crap it can accumulate in a few hours. For those of you who live in the more desert part of our nation, I feel your pain.
