How about a quick cleaning after each range trip and a more thorough cleaning every 3 or 4 trips. Something like that would require less time and should be adequate. Some people rarely clean their guns. I think I'm pretty good about it but I'll sometimes skip cleaning for an outing or 2.

The only Pistol I have ever cleaned is my Taurus PT145 and it is so easy to clean, I usually take it apart and inspect it/dust it off just for something to do. It is also my EDC so I keep it as immaculate as possible. I second Gunzilla. I have not found anything easier or more effective!

If you're lazy, spray the hell out of it with CLP and pull a bore snake through the barrel. Let it drip dry and you'll be fine. Should take all of 90 seconds.

Wouldn't maintain a high end 1911 like that but for a glock you'll do fine.

I clean them each time they're fired. I enjoy cleaning them and making mental notes on the wear and tear.

I clean my guns after every round of shooting. Well except for the cheapo Heritage Arms .22 plinker. I may shoot a couple of rounds with it before a good cleaning. Both of my Glocks are so easy to clean there is no reason not to. They can easily be cleaned in just a few minutes. Might take a little longer when disassembling the slide, but that doesn't have to be done all that often. The ease of cleaning and maintaining is one of my favorite things about Glocks. The LCP isn't too bad either. Mostly it gets the pocket lint cleaned out more than having to clean after shooting.

My air compressor sure makes the gun cleaning chore a lot easier!

I second that. I cleaned my PT145 with Gunzilla and then I poured some into the slide mechanism I couldn't get to and blew it out really well and it looks like new! The air compressor bit rocks, get canned air if you don't have one or even just get an air brush compressor, that would work too and it would pay for itself pretty quickly with the price of canned air. Check hobby stores or sometimes Wally World carries them.
I also think it helps to make them operate smoother too!

Guns get cleaned every time after use, sometimes more than once. Love cleaning them.

Dad taught me about guns, how to handle them and how to clean them. If you know him, you know that means one shot fired, gun gets cleaned, period.
I actually enjoy cleaning mine. Heck I enjoy cleaning other people's too.
Just last week he asked if I would clean his old shotgun that had developed a little surface rust, he's in the process of moving and his cleaning supplies are at the new house.
Sure, no problem, Dad has done a lot for me over the years.
I stripped it down, cleaned it, oiled it, and it still looked nasty.
I took it back to him yesterday, in a new case(with an unbroken zipper) completely re-blued, the stock sanded(to remove the scratches and gouges), stained and refinished.
He wondered what took me so long to clean it, but he is happy with the way it looks.

Me too! Spray it with CLP, let it sit, scrub any built up gunk (not that there should be any if you're diligent), and then blow them clean in the back yard. This works great and it takes me maybe half an hour during Sunday afternoon football games.

To the range...to the garage with Gunzilla...back in the holster...what a great day!
