Glock Copper Grease

So I got to 750 rounds through my Glock and I field stripped it down to clean it.
I have cleaned it before as I am rather OCD about stuff like that.

This time I noticed the Copper grease on the frame rails was gone.
I only found very tiny bit in the very corners. Do I need to re-apply some of this, or is it just a "break in" grease?
I've heard a million different opinions but I want some more opinions from experience etc.
Also I heard a guy say he had 10,000 rounds through his Glock and has never cleaned it, lubed it, or anything.
I understand its a Glock and all but, that just can't be smart.

On my g19, by the second or third cleaning, the copper grease was all gone. I use break free oil on the rails and other metal/metal interfaces. So far so good...

ive read/heard that several places once its gone its fine but keep up the light oiling and cleaning and its fine using the 3-2-1 system im thinking of using lucas gun oil any thoughts

The Copper paste lubricant used by the factory on Glock pistols is called SPEC 308 - Go here and view this Video for more information.

you know i think ima let my OCD take over a little and im just goin to get some and get it lubed the same way it was from glock if they put it there than it must mean it should be there

Check at your local auto parts store first. Copper grease is used on the backside of new brake pads, so they don't squeak, and might be found for less money there.

Glock armorers use Breakfree CLP. Said so in my Glock manual...

They are tough pistols, save your money. Most anything will do.

Well i work at napa here in oklahoma and we sell copper anti-seize grease in a small tube.
its 5 bucks walk in i buy it for 2.50 plus tax and appears to be same stuff just FYI if ever wondered

I use Lucas gun oil on all my guns. I'm not sure, but it sure looks like transmission fluid??? I keep a bottle in my garage and have noticed it thickens when it's colder.

Get a quart of Castrol Syntech and use that; cost wise it is the best gun oil you can ever use for your money. I have used it for years (since 1993) on all my guns and it has never failed me.

the copper grease is for break in/ the first shooting. after the first shooting you can clean it out. then any good gun oil at the points where glock tells you to oil will do. that will be all that you will need.

Does it smell like transmission fluid? If so, it's proabably ATF transmission fluid that Lucas bottled and sold at some horrendous mark-up. ATF fluid is a (sort of) well-known excellent gun oil.

The copper paste has always been history after the second or third cleaning of my Glock pistols. It's a non-issue really. In my experience, that paste lubricant collects way too many brass chips from firing. Follow what's basically laid out in your owner's manual for lubrication in general. Clean and lube your Glock with Gunzilla, and Glock on!
