I just got a 642ct and it work fine at the range now the cylinder will not rotate when the trigger is pulled. Any ideas before I send it to back to S & W?

How many rounds did you shoot? Have you cleaned the gun since? Check under the ejector for "dirt" build up that can bind the cylinder.Quote:

Is this a brand new 642? And are you saying you can pull the trigger, but the cylinder does not rotate? :confused:
Check the ammo still in the cylinder. Sometimes if the bullets aren't crimped tight enough the recoil from firing will "walk" the bullets forward out of their cases. If it goes out too far it will slam into the side of the forcing cone as it's trying to rotate. This will seem like it's locked up.

Yep, check the internal lock. If it's only got 25 rounds through it and you haven't been playing with the lock send it back.Quote:
