    Taking DC for granted

Today I joined a gun forum and introduced myself as a newbie and asked for some basic links/threads that would help me familiarize myself with the the weapon that represents the forum. I did read the "newbie must read" thread first. I was hoping to avoid reading through a bucket of threads/posts for some basic knowledge.
Holy Frijole! One can easily forget how polite and helpful the DC members are. The first post took my head off for not going to the search link. Even if I'm in the wrong (I did mention in the thread that I read the newbie section first) just a simple "thou shalt" would have been better than "your an idiot"! I was tempted to correct his grammar but no need to throw fuel on the fire. Kudos to the mods and the members for keeping DC a nice place to get help!

...and with that said, this mod is moving the thread to the appropriate place. (we got to keep things tidy too)

DC is the best place to be believe me. Been on a lot of forums, and everything else gets hit every now and then. DC for me is an every day thing or I'm not whole.

    I have said this before.
The DC staff is one of the greatest I have seen and I do a forum or two on at least a dozen different subjects that interest me. That's why I have been here since 2005.
The flaming and insults that I see on many other forums doesn't happen here because the staff keeps the fools in check while allowing adult discussion of different topics. These topics can sometimes hit close to home and occasionally become heated, but not insulting.

That is why DC is a place I visit daily at least.

    Thanks DC Staff.

I know what you mean though. I posted some questions about a certain russian assault rifle on that said rifles forum and it was a ghost town for a week.
I posted it in the defensive rifle section here and got 3 pages of answers, sites to check out, and pictures of members set-ups.

DC is first on my favorites list and i peruse it every night!
    (i also like smilies!)

Because there isn't much discussion here about motorcycles, homebrewing, scuba diving or smartphones.
