This newer site layout is different but the last time I did one, I had to start with writing the narrative and posting it, then go back and then add the poll. Very strange and seemingly convoluted, so perhaps a power-poster may chime in.

I don't do many polls myself, but as I remember, you post a new thread, and scroll down to options to where it says add a poll to this thread or go advanced. The options should be there before your actual post goes live on the forum. Like I say...it's been a while, and I can't come up with anything right now to test it out and tell you for sure.
