Are you folks hearing this using the Defensive Carry v2 program or the old DC Interim?
I've never heard it using the old board format (DC Interim).

I just had it happen again for ladies leg lotion or shaving cream or something. I did what gottabkiddin said and muted it with the speaker icon. The video of the ad still plays but the sound is gone now at least.

Well I guess its possible this is something on the site but most likely it is not.

I also run something called "privoxy" It basically block anything that is pinging a different site than the one you are on. So ads on the side of sites acutally look like grey areas.
Taurususa.com uses external sources for its home page so privoxy sees them as ads. (Its as easy as a click of a button to let it view the site normally.) This program also blocks pop ups because they are hosted using a different IP address. usually. :)

I am confused. All I get is forum traffic, and have not seen any ads, or pop-ups.

I am running Linux, Firefox and AdBlocker Plus.

Where are these ads y'all are referring to?

This is not malware. It's coming from the site.

At the very bottom of the page, under the space where you would enter a reply to a topic, is a space set aside for Sponsor advertising. In that space, video ads have started running. This is new to this site.

It's not malware, you're not hearing things, and it is annoying ..... but, they gotta make a buck somewhere. I just turn my speakers off while I'm on here.

nothing playing for me, I've never had that happen either, I'm using firefox with latest updates, its pop-up blocker and NO other pop up software, etc, only using AVG
I see the ad at the bottom of the page but nothing hijacking my screen or noise playing

....although when I clicked on this link to this thread one dog farted, the other began repeatedly chasing his tail, malware?
thats what the customers said happened when we used to fix their computers anyway

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

Ya know, I wouldn't mind it so much if it were GUN ads or related content, but Lysol and Experian & Chrysler are not related content. Hell, I would even go for a Husqvarna lawnmower commercial since they at least USED to make guns....

If you use FireFox, get these two Add-Ons and you can block nearly any add on nearly any web page, I have found only one or two that have beaten me.

That only happened because 64zebra's dog farted.
