Ok, I see what you guys are talking about now. I had to disable Privoxy. Here's what I got:

    Privoxy disabled:

    Privoxy enabled:

I never even knew there was an advertisement there until today.

It appears in a Sponsor block. I was able to easily block it and that block is blank now & I don't hear anything.

It is not malware! If I use DC Interim the pop-up ads disappear, but if I use the new interface, Defensive Carry v2, the annoying ads pop-up right away, and that even when using a UNIX machine. Xdtalk.com is other forum that has a lot of annoying advertising; that is the reason because I never go there.

I've had one go off on me. The bad thing is I am home alone this week and I tend to keep my PC logged in and my browser up and running. The other night I was in the other room the other night, with no TV or radio, and I start hearing voices in my house (not in my head, this time). I got a little freaked out to say the least.

Its been 24hrs, since Ive got one. It looks like the add's sound is muted. If you want to hear it, its just a click away. Much better.

I think it is luck of the draw as to which ad you get.... only a few have sound out of the revolving door of ads...

The ads should not have sound unless a user first interacts with the advertisement. This isn't always the case and advertisers slip through with those annoying ads that take over. So anytime you see an ad that does that (either stretch beyond the square it's supposed to be in or make noise without being prompted), then post it here so we can complain directly to the advertiser and/or blacklist the advertisement. What we need is the URL that the ad clicks through to. If there's a redirect (appears to go somewhere first, then refreshes to somewhere else) we would want the first address. Because these do rotate we can't always find the offending ad, but with the URL we can still stop them!
