'Taint had a problem yet...& I run 'er dark & dirty sometimes. :ticking:
I just ran everything I have & nothing was detected on my machine.
As you and I discussed privately, I run Trend Micro Smart Surfing in the background, have the machine behind a

The advantage of doing it that way is I don't have to block the ads because they can't install executable files by stealth
on that particular type of machine.
Unfortunately, that machine is in the Apple Hospital now for almost 3 weeks. Bad logic board, and the two replacements
Apple sent were both defective.
It is almost time to disconnect, save the money spent on ISPs and electricity and go back to pen and paper. The bad guys
have about won.
I am running Chrome with AdBlock Plus and Nortons. No problems as of yet but I haven't checked the log
Here's the problem as I understand it. There is a lot of malware out there that is now so sophisticated and clever

Noway explained it to me by private message.
There are ways to dig the hidden stuff out, but doing so is beyond the capability of
most of us ordinary users who haven't decided to make a hobby out of computer security.
I don't blame the DC owners or the individual advertisers. Everyone almost is using some hosting company and
some of them are just no good. I have a small business web site physically running off a server in AU. If that hosting
company isn't doing its job, I have no way to know about it unless my own machine catches the malware, and then only if
my anti-malware programs see it.
We really desperately need a new net architecture. The present net can not be fixed or patched to where it is safe.
Governments can't protect themselves; large companies can't protect themselves. How's the little end user and small
site operator going to?
See, while AdBlock is great, it defeats the business purposes of the DC owners, and it keeps us from

Well, until the internet changes I ain't changing. You can't go to some sites without half the page being taken up by ads. It is totaly annoying.

Oh, and I don't pay for high speed internet so It can be slowed down by ads of which I have never looked at one! I mean ever. If I am in the need for something I google it and go to that site. I pay for DVR's in my house so I don't have to watch commercials. Is that as wrong in your eyes Hop? Except for sports and news I never see a commercial, nor do I want to.
And as far as the commercials for sports, who has time to see them?
1. Prostrate medicine: If I needed it I probably didn't see the commercial since I am in the bathroom and know of the need already
2. Beer: Missed those also, in the bathroom from drinking beer (I don't drink but a funny example anyway)
3. Trucks Ford vs Chevy (Chevy and I got one)
4. Viagra: You don't want me going there.
6. And of course I could have lived with out seeing Bloombergs anti-gun commercail during the Superbowl
No thanks.,I Google and Fast forward and pee
Well, I take it that whoever owns this site has to make some bucks doing it; or accept gifts/donations or both.

As to WHEC's point, I'm not talking about government control of the internet. I'm saying that the technology of the web
is 35 years old, was never designed for the kinds of things it is being used for today, and exposes all of us to
ills from ID theft to damaged hardware needing expensive repairs. The architecture is so inadequate that not even
Uncle Sam can protect himself; as we've seen from various hacked government sites.
My former office, which had ZERO computers in 1981, now has at least 3 IT guys; mostly dealing with
security. Add that across all of government, and across all of industry, and the damage done by malicious code writers
So, to make sure you understand my point about us needing a new architecture, it isn't to grant anyone more
control, it is to keep the (word work around in play)'s from destroying a good thing.
I've alerted the owners of this issue, hopefully they should be addressing it soon.
Thank you l1a1, this is exactly the kind of info we need to be able to track this stuff down. We've sent this info to all of our ad network providers so they can be sure it's been removed.
