as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.
For Sale 1985 Toyota Supra. one owner, 82K, will pass inspection, only needs some body/rust patching
Adblock plus + NoScript = No problemos here!
The reason I carry? To defend myself.
The reason I install programs and ad-ons that make my PC safe? To defend my computer.
Life is all about being proactive. Making a site safe isn't as easy as just putting up a force field around it...this is the internet. I'll hope DC does their part, but I'll also do mine and not blame it on anyone else.
Not a personal attack, just saying. How do you know it was from DC?
Been calling it like I see it since 1988 and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
I have been using Firefox and I installed adblock+ and it works great!
Yoda, I am, yes.
I was ready to grab some popcorn and read all about the situation
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"

For what it's worth, we are bombarded by spammers and hackers on a daily basis. It's all we can do to keep up with shutting them out.
I can assure you that the owners, and administrators are working full time working on ways to protect the website. Whenever they can, they install filters to keep repeated spammers out. We ban a lot of spammers and IP addresses on a daily basis. This is the nature of the internet. A lot of it comes down to old fashioned banning as they crop up. But I can assure you, it is being addressed constantly.
Add-on's such as add blocker and spam blockers you can put on your browser helps a lot.
A lot of the complexities of spamming, and hacking are certainly above my pay grade, but the forum owners, and upper administrators are working tirelessly to keep this forum as clean as possible. It's a full time endeavor for sure.

Buy a Mac. You won't be constantly worrying about your computers safety.

I guess we all have different experiences; that's why there are so many products out.
I'm in a bedroom using a 9-10 year old XP machine and Mrs. H is using a brand new iMac running Lion. So far, amazingly, I'm not especially impressed by my iMac. Maybe its just that I've had 10 years (30 really starting with DOS 1.2) to learn
how to deal with MSDOS style machines but only a few weeks to get used to the iMac.
Now back to our regular caliber wars-- I mean "computer operating system" wars.
"Great is the guilt of an unnecessary war."

I have an iMac with MacKeeper installed...never have had a problem in 4+ years.![]()
