continued weirdness with link and pics

Still getting weird links in posts, other people's posts...

    For example: Gun Control Question

The first post in that thread on my computer appears like this:
    Capture txt.JPG

"Hovering" the cursor over the blue underlined link causes a fly-out as seen below. I have Java disabled on my firefox browser.

    Capture txt2.jpg

Is this me... or is something happening to DC?
    It could be worse.

Even the post I just made above has a link I didn't put in it... as seen below:

where I mention that i have something disabled in my internet viewer thing. (<trying to avoid fly - outs in that sentence)
    It could be worse.

Now, they show up everywhere... in almost every post...

I haven't had any problems, yet. If I were you I would be cleaning my computer ASAP. In my case...I would be taking it in since I am not a computer whiz (actually I am as far from "whiz" as one can get).

Try running spybot search and destroy or some other trojan cleaner.

Oakchas I did a google search and found this describing virtually the same problem:
Unknown Malware ... random links inserted in web page

You can read it and follow the instructions, hope that helps you, it is not on DefensiveCarry.

It would appear that a program on your PC is doing that Oak. I recommend Malwarebytes free version from download.com, I've used it to rid many PCs of viruses.

It's fixed for now, thanks to spybot... I've also got malware bytes.

I'm disappointed in my virus software, and my registry/other software that should automatically take care of such things...

When I was a tech back in the 80's I often had to repair computers using manual programs... It's a shame I have to resort back to being involved again....

Sigh... getting lazy in my old age.

Re: continued weirdness with link and pics

I had that happen to me recently.

I discovered that the culprit was an AOL taskbar that had been installed with another program. Uninstalling it fixed the problem.
