Emphasis on important thread titles
Ya'll mods do a superb job on managing inappropriate threads and posts. From a different management direction, and during this unstable anti-gun climate, please consider a small suggestion that would help emphasize very-appropriate posts. Perhaps the thread title could be emboldened somehow so it draws the members attention that this is a particularly important thread title to read.
Sometimes a member will post a very important 2A thread, the substance of the post and links can be very important and information that all members need to know and to react to. I'm thinking it would be helpful if a special similie, or icon, or capital/bold, or color of the thread title be added or amended to the title so it would catch our eye.
Those threads worthy of a special emphasis would be determined by the mods?
Here's a perfect example of one running right now, "New GOA Action Alert - Critical - Take Action". For these special ones it would be helpful if they would look different, and be more important than a typical running thread title.
Thanks for considering this. I don't mean to burden the mods, but these are important 2A times right now, and perhaps a way we can crank out more "messages to the legislators".
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.

There's the "sticky" mechanism, which works well.
If there's a groundswell of support for making a topic a "sticky," it often gets flagged that way.

True, and I thought about that, however sticky's are rather permanent and typically sit in a category by themselves and at a glance all sort of look alike.
If an urgent response thread is running, and in today' need for quick member reaction, I think it ought to have a different emphais from anything else. The threads running like the GOA thread I mentioned sort of has a "expiring useful period". In a couple of weeks it could be worthless and unneeded.

Re: Emphasis on important thread titles
Wer're pretty limited in what can be done past renaming a thread. There are no options to bolden or highlight thread titles. There are options the the original poster can apply such as exclamation points etc but I don't believe those show up when viewing new posts or in subforums, only when you are viewing the actual thread.

vBulletin does allow an Admin/Moderator user to create an Announcement, though of course this wouldn't happen automatically.
Perhaps users could petition a moderator to create a simple announcement given the gravity of a certain post (ie, legislation possibly deserving of urgent action). This way, a simple link to the thread in question could appear at the top of every forum for a certain period of time.
Possibility?

That's a possibility.

Ya'll think about it, I just thought it would be wise to have some mechanism where the thread got more traffic, views and ultimately member ACTION.
Feinstien et al, motivates me not to leave any stones unturned on our pro-2A efforts.
