Are members here allowed just reply to over 20 different threads in that forum with the same generic reply? Kinda clutters up the "New Posts" search.
Don't believe what you hear and only half of what you see!
It's a forum fact of life. We don't want to discourage members from welcoming new members.

I like welcoming new members, but feel guilty about about clogging up the "Active Topics" and "What's New". Any possibility that threads from the "New Members" section could be excluded from those areas? We could just go directly to that section to welcome the new members.
I need to start spamming the newbie forum i'd probably catch msg/ret in about a week
I think were having some technical difficulties right now. I can't edit or quote my previous post...
I meant to say i'd catch retsupt99 in a week not msgt/ret.
Here's a thought...... Maybe when a new person has about 15 replies welcoming them we should refrain from further welcomes.... Just a thought....

Second Amendment -- Established December 15, 1791 and slowly eroded ever since What happened to "..... shall not be infringed."
I also wish the welcome posts would simply not show in "active topics" because it's hard to get a view of what's going on when all you see is 20 "hi, I'm new" threads.

For some members, welcoming someone else aboard may be the only time they post.
Do we really want to discourage it, because we're too lazy to read past "those kind of posts" on the active thread board? I think not. The Mod's here do a great job (IMHO) of keeping things moving, and lively.
I'll respond on some of the introduction posts, hoping it makes those people new to the forum, feel welcome, so they'll feel like it's OK to post. Isn't that the point?
