That'll learn me. Weird, as it is still doing it.
Did a re-boot and cleared the cookies, and it is working again.

Several months ago MS did an update, which I have since changed, that took me from IE9 to 10 or 11. When that happened the Search button disappeared at this site. I could still mouse over it, but I could not see Search or the text window.
Who know why this stuff happens... Too many OS "upgrades" if you ask me. Which is why printers and other peripherals become obsolete. I use IE and have noticed compatibilty view changes with several of the bells and whistles sites that use vBulletin. I'm sure they can only keep up so fast.
Glad all you needed was a reboot.

Old mantra: when all else fails, turn it off/on. Same goes for the cookie clearing. For some reason, they can get corrupted from time to time, and clearing them for a given site often clears up a host of things.

I had a number of goblins with my PC I could not account for. My IT desk suggesting backing out IE11. Since I did that it works fine again. I have found a few sites that simply won't handle IE11.

I'm using Chrome, with which I have never had the first problem. It worked fine until I logged on, at which time it went sideways.
