And yet we've had this policy in place since 2004 and gotten along just fine. This is not a new concept on this forum.
Yes it does. But the terms of service of which every member has agreed to abide by are clear on the matter of religion and politics on this forum. No non-2A related politics, and no topics based solely on religion, there is some lee-way on religion in Terry & Bob's place and topics directly related to carry etc. such as carry in church and ethical/moral issues related to the taking of human lives.
As for tyrannical government, that's exactly what the 2A is for. If you are complaining of censorship on this forum I will point out the following section of the forum rules (which you agreed to on July 3rd, 2011)
A note on FREE SPEECH:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The First Amendment is greatly respected here, as are all other Amendments that the Second Amendment defends. We are, however, a privately owned venture and as such, your freedom of speech does not grant you a right to post anything you may wish to say on this forum. These rules are a contract you agree to when you become a member of this forum and members are expected to adhere to them. Those who err cannot complain about censorship, or a perceived loss of first amendment rights. If you do not like our rules or feel you cannot follow them, seek out a new venue to frequent, or start your own.
If you feel you can abide by these rules, we hope that you join us on DefensiveCarry.com. We invite you to share your expertise and enjoy the camaraderie. "Share what you know, learn what you don't." If you do not believe you can stay within these rules, please do us all a favor and go elsewhere. We do not tolerate the intentional breaking of our rules.
The DefensiveCarry.com Staff
Again, these rules and policies are nothing new and predate many of the join dates of new members. Big election years always bring out the "worst" in our members regarding the posting of prohibited political content. Some members just "forget" what they agreed to abide by and sometimes we have to "remind" them of these policies.
In addition, Bumper is no longer the owner of this forum. 4Nines, Bman505, FFAdmin, and other administrators from QK and myself represent the owners of this forum. If you do not like this policy as enacted you may take it up with them, but I will say that they are aware of of rules and policies and thus have not made any changes to them.

Agree. Especially since 2A discussions will be allowed. Besides my CC options and views, I am especially concerned for 2A discussion - at an adult level.
I will note though, that a lot of the 2A discussion is ignored here. I rationalize that in the fact that the majority of the members of this Forum are living in states where they do not see the threat against 2A 'stepping directly on thier necks' yet.
This is a great and expertly well run Forum for the discussion of CC and realted Defensive Carry issues.
Thank you for running a tight ship.
You've got it Bumper!
As an FYI, I asked some of the owners for their take on politics and get this from FFAdmin
As previously stated, if you want to talk politics (outside of 2A issues) do so either at Conservative Stronghold, or the forum linked in the above quote.Quote:
...in regards to Political discussions, I am all for the keeping the current policy of zero-tolerance w/ the exception of allowing only 2A related politics. Allowing political discussion will ruin these boards. That is a fact. Direct people to our sister site if they want to discuss politics (US Message Board - Political Discussion Forum). You want to see what happens when politics are discussed head over there :) it's CRAZY and out of control.
As for suggestions regarding a seperate sub forum here, it won't happen.
