Since I live alone It took less than two minutes to fill out.

I did resist licking the return envelope seal,

If that's the case, then for "sex" we should put "quite often"

Maybe I'll change my name to Lestat. Some days I get up early, and some I just stay up until sunrise.

The census is released into the public record after an amount of time set by law (I think it's 70 years) and they are widely used in different types of research after release. They can be a great source of information if you are doing family research.
It was comparing the 1820, 1830, and 1840 census data in Georgia and Alabama that helped me solve a riddle from the family bible, and figure out who my immigrant ancestor was in our surname line. Just that basic household info (and the documentation of a visitor to the house on that day) made all the difference.

"American" is a nationality, not a race.

It appeared to me a few of the choices were nationalities. So, I chose to play along.

    Enumeration - to count.

Manner - the way in which they conduct the count - i.e. mailed form, in person, telephone, etc.

Does not grant them authority to expand the questions beyond the clearly specified enumeration.

    No problem with the count.

Why do they need to know our race? Are they going to discriminate "where to use the tax money" based on race? Why names or dates of birth? Are they going to send me a check?

Constitution provides for an enumeration every ten years to provide the basis for congressional representation. Period. Not to help them "spread the wealth around".

It's like paying taxes, you are always free to send in more than required. I have yet to find a liberal who has ever sent in an extra dime. They just want everyone else to pay more.

I have done some genealogy, and the censuses are very helpful.

They change pretty much every decade. Not much more information asked on this one than they asked in 1860, IIRC.

I filled it out, goes in the mailbox tomorrow.

Someday my great-grandkids may be looking for me, and find me.
