I just got a box of new in wrapper Bulgarian 30 rnd metal AK mags. They are well coated in oil. I whipped them off good externally, but should I do anything internally before loading them? These will be loaded and left for what could be a very long time.
If I gave a crap about what you think about my guns.....it was early this morning and I already flushed it!
I've gotten some in the past that were heavily coated. You can take the base-plate off, remove the spring and follower, flush with brake-cleaner, and run a rag through the mag body.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.
