Finally got some new toys. My wife got her new carry pistol, it's a Kimber Ultra Cdp. Gonna order her some new thin grips soon as she decides which maker she wants to use. She already sent Sarge an e-mail.
Mine is a Rock River LAR15. The red dot is a Bushnell red/green dot. It turns out I know someone who works at the Bushnell outlet. He gave me a good discount and I saved about $150. Over budget on the rifle but well under on the optic. Now for some decent weather to go shoot.

I think we both did well too. The 1911 felt more comfortable and natural to her. She looked at a LOT of different pistols. She either didn't like the fit/feel or lack of manual saftys. I'm so proud.:smile: She rented one before we bought just to make sure, handled it like a pro. Off to the pistol range today, I won't get to shoot mine for a while though:frown:
