Nickel Plating
I have a FEG PJK-9HP that has a little bit of rust that is starting on the back of the grip from neglect by the previous owner. I would like to nickel plate the gun.
Does anyone have any experience with this process or has ever had one done.
Is there another process that might be better?

Nickel-plating? Not since I sold my pimp mobile.
I've ordered a batch of DuraCoat for my project gun, a CZ-82. Will post how it turns out when it all coomes in.

Go for Satin Electroless Nickel.
It does not chip or peel and forms a molecular bond with the base metal.

+1 on Electro-less Nickel plating. Not a pimped out look at all. In fact a very durable finish.

One other possibilty is satin hard chrome. I had it done to a Marlin 45-70 that I use in Alaska. Of course, the year after I did that they came out with a stainless steel model!
The satin hard chrome looks really nice, and so far seems to be holding up well.

It was a while ago and I'll have to do some digging for the name, but it was an outfit in Tampa Fl. Ask around and I would think several shops that do refinishing and custom work would offer it or send it out to someone who does. I'll post the name and info when I find it. ( it's been 3 moves ago )

I'm not a big fan of paint on gun finishes myself. They do excellent plating work and I've never had a dis-satisfied customer.

Hard Chrome....... Pound-for-Pound the toughest finish you can put on a gun for the money. Thousands of competition guns in USPSA have this done to enhance corrosion resistance and to add longevity to the weapon....
The gun you see as my avatar is my daily carry gun, it was hard chromed by Checkmate; My other gun, an STI was done by Accurate plating & weaponry.......
