Sure, meet a guy to pick up a nice pistola and either get robbed by him or end up having to defend yourself. I would stick to pawn shops, gun shops and this forum. Craigs is bad news.

We have a site just for VA now (VaGunTrader.com -- Buy/Sell/Trade your firearms for free !), and it is quite busy...dozens of posts a day, sometimes. Almost makes me sorry for people in other states

our local site for Carolinians is Carolina Shooters Forum...
It has a very robust WTS, WTB, WTT section.
Done business with a few local guys and everything went very smooth... as it should be.

VaGunTrader is great, but a lot of states have similar things...or even exactly the same.
Guns For Sale Classifieds in Tampa , Miami , Jacksonville , St. Petersburg , Orlando and all areas of Florida. for example, not sure if it's good or bad but I found it in 2 seconds.
I wouldn't be too concerned about getting robbed, most of the face to face purchases I've made have been at a range. I would say a dozen armed men is a pretty big deterrent.
