1911 handgun refinishing in Texas
I was hoping to get some insight on a quality place in Texas to get my para ordnance s16-40 refinished. I bought it used and the stainless slide has a lot of holster wear and some scratches on it. Also the beavertail safety looks pretty worn.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even more appreciated if one was suggested with a low price!
also, are there any suggestions on modifications that would make this 1911 better?
Thanks!

I have a Para Ord 1911 customized by Alex Hamilton (Ten Ring) in Texas. It is one of the best shooting 1911s I have shot. He does great work.

Thanks I'll check him out. What kind of re-finishing did he do on your 1911? Also, if you dont mind, how much does he charge?

All of the gunsmiths in Texas send their stuff out to other companies to get refinishing done, unless they are applying a basic blue treatment, and even then many of them just send the guns out because it is cheaper to do so. I don't know if Virgil Tripp still does his cobra chrome work, but his hard chroming was some of the best work around.
I would check around on the internet for refinishing services, there are plenty around....

Tripp quit about 2 years ago.
