    The Germans have invaded.

I am a 15 plus year JMB 1911 ONLY disciple. My safe has been invaded by the Germans.
HK USP .45 I cannot believe I am typing this, but I perfer shooting this over my Combat commander.

My first 50 shots. Took a while to figure out point of aim, but once on target I was pleased with the results.

    Sig P6

No 6 o'clock hold for the Sig either. This one fine shooter.

If you can shoot like that with those two pistols... Why would you carry anything else?

Nice shooting there! And nice pistols too!

My German made P229 is a fine weapon as well. That .45 HK looks like and shoots like your very own personal Tiger tank.

HK are fine pistols, but it is a little like BMW. You pay a significant $$$ for the brand and not for increased quality.

Personally I pay for quality not for stickers.

    Uhm, I'd beg to differ.

My H&K's are by far the most reliable pistols I own. They aren't the most accurate (though they're certainly no slouch) but you could toss them under a steam roller and they'd probably still fire. The only reason I don't use them as my EDC is their a bit bulky for concealed carry, admittedly I only own a MK 23 and USP .45 .

I can also shoot my G36 (my carry pistol) just as well. These are just range toys.

Oneshot, thanks for the offer. My commander is going nowhere.

Germans have a way of doing that. So to Texans. HK P2000SK and STI Shadow 1911, here, and proud of both of 'em!

Plus a few from NY, UT, FL, IL and a few other places.

The most reliable of the bunch? H&K's P2000SK by a long margin.

Reliability is a tough nut. Not everything has it. H&K does. Thirty-five to 50% more than a rough equivalent from nearly ten other makers, but with greater reliability, ambi controls I can manipulate, as great or greater round count, and smaller overall dimensions. That's a combination that I could not find elsewhere, for any money. Too much or little, when there is no effective alternative? Depends on the criteria. YMMV.

zee germans don't manufacture junk. they just cost an arm and a leg. the HK USP is a good platform, and both reliable and accurate. just so pricey.

good shooting. post pics of commander and target - we don't want him feeling left out!

Next time.... move the target out more than 5 ft away ...... (just kidding)

My 13 yr old granddaughter has been eliminating the middle of targets consistently since she was 10, at very good distances, just makes me sick. I guess I am consoled by the fact I must have been a decent teacher.

Now, you've made me think I need to shoot one and try it out.

The HK has earned a rep for a reason. I would prefer them over a 1911 too if nothing but for capacity and portecting my 1911s LOL

The USP's have gotten reasonable, particularly if you're willing to go hunting around the "used" market. On GunBroker, for example, there are dozens of examples of USP's in the $375-500 range, over the past couple of months. IMO, the USP Compact 9mm (~$475-575) is probably one of the best bargains on the market, right now. Police buy-back sources might even have them for less, though in .40cal or .45 ACP.

Of course, the newer P2000's and P30's are more.
