Gun Safe reminder

Just to remind everyone who has a gun safe with a battery operated lock. Change those Batteries regularly.
I went to get my carry gun out of the safe and Yep the batteries were dead! With my poor hearing I can't hear the beeps from the touch pad. So I tried 3 or 4 times before I realized what was going on. Then I had to get the key out to open it up. I know where the key is so that wasn't a problem. But it took longer to get my gun out. Had this been an emergency it could have been ugly! Now I'll change the Batteries in the safe when I change the smoke detector batteries. I think I'll do it on the 4th of July also.

I cannot bring myself to trust one of those electronic locks. Spent too many years dealing with electronics to put my life in them. They always seem to fail at the worst of times.

I use a keyed safe. The key is on my keyring, which is in the safe whenever I'm home, there in case.... It opens with one twist, faster than punching n numbers, etc. When I leave, so does the key (and I never have to try to remember where I put my keys!).

I change the batteries in my safe from the outside...:image035:

We are reminded to change batteries in our smoke detectors when we change our clocks, so..........
