I think most of us are in agreement about consistent "carry mode". I too carry when taking the trash out, going to mailbox, sitting on the riding lawnmower, grillin' a steak, et cetera.
I have a 6ft privacy fence around my backyard, and still carry when I go out there around 9-10pm to feed my dog.

    Paranoid? Perhaps...
Prepared? Yep--->XD .45/Trijicon night sights with 14 rounds of 230gr. "get out of my yard" power......just in case.

and yes, when I'm sitting on the toilet....it's there on the sink, too.
Stop acting like we're fightin' for "freedom". We are ALREADY....free.

    It's like a wallet:

    1. Nobody else touches it but me.
    2. I make sure I have it when I get dressed in the morning.
    3. I don't mentally dwell on it all day long, even though I have it on me.
    4. I try to avoid ever having to pull it out because it will cost me.
    5. I try to be smart about where/when I use it.

Who we be part one, that store located on the strip on route 202 leading into
MainStreet.Correct me if I am wrong a clerk was stabbed to death in one
of the Cumberland Farms stores a few years back.I worked in the city for
7 years 1983-1992 working for the City which at the time was considered one of the best jobs avalible if you could land it. I was in charge of Building Maintenance for the city. You ever take a job
and know you made a big mistake the first day ? This was my dosey,I didn't like the city as I worked in thr most run down parts.Isaw things that still piss me
off.I watched a 12 year old girl rough up a baby for about 15 seconds before I went out and talked to her.I thought she was babysitting for someone else but
it was her kid! This one really gets me it was 3 a.m.and 70% humidity and I got called in for something ,when I came upon the building someone had set a fire
in the dumpster.I saw packs of young babies in diapers running in packs. As a father of young kids at the time. I as myself where are the parents?
After 7 years of seeing the worst the human race had to offer I decided I wanted to work closer to home ,so I started looking for new job as I got tired
of walking around spent hypo needles on the sidewalks and streetwalkers always asking you if you want a date. The whore house was right across the new Police Station so I had a personal opinion about possible coruption in the City's leadership.

Going to any convenience store at 1 am is fairly high risk.

I may be in the minority here, but I am comfortable functioning in society both with and without my pistol strapped on. I do this for my own sanity.

Umm... nice quote, but there are gradations to fear. If one is so scared he can't leave the house, that -- to me -- is a life not worth living.

But sometimes fear just makes us increase our watchfulness and listen to our spidey sense.

More than once I've gone outside to take out trash only to hear something in the brush behind my shrubbery or in the woods at the edge of my backyard only to find cats, skunk, raccoon and my neighbors dog off leash.

One can never know nor assume though...

No where now a days is immune folks. I'm with you Jang. If not a gun, then a 20 inch pipe I keep right by the back garage door for that trip into the alley for taking out the garbage. It's not spray, but I've become pretty good at throwing the thing if need be.

Quoted from Oneshot "My daughters berate me for carrying @ church.
I told them, "do you know how many idiots have shot up a church full of people just sitting there?
They just shut up after that, because they know I can and will show them many accounts of just that.
I am the same as Bark'n, I'm not going anywhere without it(except when @ work)

Liberals are like Slinkies…Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs."

I agree with oneshot. I also carry at church. That abortion "Doctor" here in Wichita Ks was shot in his own church. Even though the gunman was after only one man in particular how would anybody else have know if he would have shot at other people on his way out?
My wife thinks it's stupid to carry in church but I always remind her of that incident.
