Question Help with adding lanyard to PT1911

Hey everyone, I am trying to figure out a way to add a pistol lanyard to my EDC which is a Taurus PT1911 AR. Just about every Taurus fan knows that they do not come with a lanyard loop built in so any ideas would be very appreciated. Would there be any place on the gun where I could drill a couple small holes and make it work?

What exactly does this pin do where the red circle is? I was checking to see if I can drill through both sides there..Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

Brownells sells a couple of replacement mainspring housings with a lanyard loop for a 1911

They may or may not fit depending on how close the Taurus is to a government model 1911?

Well I try to be as safe as possible when it comes to control of my handgun. I am very proficient in weapon retention and combatives, but it's a "just in case" sort of deal. I open carry because I am not 21 yet. Also to the two others who have posted information, I really appreciate it! Thank you two so much.

Clint Smith and Hamilton Bowen both make good cases for lanyards. Carrying concealed, I wouldn't even consider it, but if I had to carry openly, I'd give it serious consideration.

Question to the OP: Where are you, that it is legal to carry openly but not concealed, when under 21? Are you sure you're okay on that under federal law?

Yes Sir I am 100% sure. I have doubled checked the laws with my Attorney just for legal clarification. My location is in Southeast Colorado. Thanks for your recommendation and interest as well.
