Tom Selleck using a Gunsite 1911 in the new Jesse Stone Movie

Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed the 1911 Tom Selleck was using in the latest movie was a Gunsite Model. You can clearly see the Gunsite logo on the grip near the end when he catches the convenience store robber near the end.

I may be wrong, but I believe he was using a personally owned gun in that, and various other movies of his.

He is a known gun collector/shooter.

Ya know, I mentioned the 1911 to my sweetie. I'm sure he has some input to what his character carries ever since Magnum PI.

We both enjoyed the show, she likes how he looks, I like how bad he ticks off Rosie O.

Yep, Tom is a friend to gun owners and gun rights. I've enjoyed all the Jesse Stone movies.

I wonder if there'll be more episodes now that the guy who wrote the books has died. I surely hope so. Love his portayal of a flawed charactor. I'm so sick of the invincible supermen.

he is supposedly starring in a new cop show this fall...I will be watching. And I do think that was a personally owned gun in that movie as well

If I am not mistaken, Tom described this gun (he had built for him) in a previous issue of American Handgunner?

Likewise, he makes a good cop and cowboy and PI and everything else. The guy is first-rate.

I believe the last 2 movies were not based on books but original scripts so they probably will but they need to get better writers and a little more action in the series.

Ya' know, even for a small town outside of a big city like Boston, it appears that there are a lot of untimely demises.

I don't think I'd want to move there. It seems that it is safer in Boston, statistically speaking of course.

Yep, he's carried it in all 6 of the "Jesse Stone" TV movies, he also carried one when he was part of the "Las Vegas" cast.

I went to Amazon an signed up for the DVD when it comes out. Amazon claimed that the seventh movie has been filmed and the eighth is scheduled for production next year. Tom Selleck is a great actor where guns are involved. His period films are fairly accurate. If he ran for office I would have no problem voting for him. He deffinately is a class act. BTW the 1911 he used in Magnum P.I. ws not a 45 ACP, it was a 9mm according to an article I read.

If you watch the introduction to each episode, it clearly shows him inserting a 9mm/Super .38 magazine into the pistol.
