    Desert Eagle pistols???

Anybody have any experience with these pistols? I have always wanted one just for the coolness factor and I have the opportunity to get a used one in 44 mag preatty reasonably. I dont want to spend the money, however, if they are pieces of junk. I cant seem to find many reviews online. Thanks!

There is no coolness factor for those guns unless everyone you know gets their gun knowledge from Counter Strike and action movies.

LOLOLOL--Well, if you're ever cleaned one, they have all the charm or an AR chamber. And they like to be surgically clean or they get stubborn about cycling. The ones I've played with have been accurate and fun, but pretty finnicky (GLOCK/HK guy talking here).

Israel in general doesn't make crap guns, and they are an Israeli company.

They would be ok for handgun hunting or just a range queen, other than that though, not particularly usefull.

Too big for anything, too finicky with ammo. Big image, little use.

I have one of the first 44s they made and I have shot it allot. It is built like a tank. One thing I have noticed is after shooting 5 or 6 rounds from the mag, if you empty the gun and pull the last couple rounds from the mag the bullets are banged up pretty good, almost like what happens on a 30/30 with a tube mag.

I have a Desert Eagle in 44 mag and 50 A&E. Great gun, I have about 500 rounds through it with only a few jams from limp wrist. Allot of fun to shoot and hunt with. It is very accurate out to 75 yards, that's as far as I shoot it.

If I could afford one I would get a Gold Plated 50 cal. I really like the 50!!

I have to admit, if I see someone with a Desert Eagle the first thing I think is 1)oh great, another noob or 2)wow, that gun is just so... uncool.

Other than that, honestly i have no idea how reliable they are, sorry.

Do you want it? Do you have the money to afford it? Can you afford to feed it? Can you reliably find ammo for it? Since it's used, will the seller let you try it out before you buy it?

Can you answer yes to all of these?

If yes, good, go buy it. Problem solved.

I bought my 1911 because I liked the look of them. It had very little to do what other people said about them. So if appearance is a factor in your decision, and you meet the rest of the criteria, I say why not?

Turned out for me, I liked that 1911 so much, I gave it away.

Still DO NOT like the flush trigger guard/barrel. Too easy to let the weak hand slide up under recoil and shoot your own index finger off. If you "teacup" then go for it!

For old school coolness factor, get a snub nosed 38. That's just about as cool as it gets.

I had one a long time ago and it was in 44 mag as well.
I liked it and it shot great , very soft shooting for a 44 mag.
But as others have said , its not good for anything but hunting,
Its just too big and very heavy.
I would not buy it again because I did not get my moneys worth
out of it, simply because I did not shoot it that much.
If you have a CCL I would say buy yourself a nice CCW that you
can carry and get use out of.(just my .02)

They are cool for range use or something...but pretty useless for anything practical.
