I just put in an order for 750 rounds of .223 and 500 rds of .45.
Needed to resupply you know.

All I can say is, when the heck did ammo become so damn expensive? $149 for 750 rounds of .223 and $99 for 500 rounds of .45!.
Ammo is getting more and more expensive.

Dillion would do great, I think, if they had a 4 payment plan like Outdoorsportsman and action direct. Could get a reloader on a plan.

Why, I know that I've been buying ammo by the box lately and decided that I needed to gain in bulk but WOW!, the prices.

And I haven't even looked at a case of 7.62 yet. I've heard the prices have gone up three fold on that. What used to be gotten for around $89 dollars a case, has gone up to over $120+.

Damn, these things are expensive to find, and I'm not even counting my C&R's.

sigh, poor again.

You are right on the 7.62. I bought a 1000 round case of SP from Sportsman Guide around Christmas time and payed $85 plus shipping. Just checked yesterday and like you said its $120.

Manufacturers have raised their prices in some cases 8% a month for the past three months. Everybody says the same thing, that raw materials cost more.
More coming, I'm sure.

I have been way lazy over reloading in bulk for ages but time is coming when I shall have really get back into some large qty reloading for even the regular handgun cals.

Most amazing increase seems to be the Wolf 7.62x39 - what I used to pick up from a gun show for $80 a case can now be $169 - assuming you can get it! I have 2,000 tucked away and looks like that will be used way more carefully than was once the case!

Chris -- Wolf can barely even get ammo at all. They're looking at another plant to make some, but that plant only makes the "old Wolf" with the green sticky lacquer coating on it.

I have also noticed the price increases and made the decision to suspend my next gun purchase to buy reloading stuff instead..

I bought a single stage press and all of the stuff for precision rifle loading, and am now thinking seriously about a progressive setup for handgun caliber loading. The world of reloading is certainly a serious, separate hobby all together.. Not a bad way to spend time that you just cannot make it to the range.

Talked to a guy at a gun show a few months ago who made and reloaded ammo. He said if you can find a good price on ammo, buy it! It is only going up just like everything else is. The price of metal has skyrocketed in the past year not to mention transportation costs.
