Ruger GP100 4"

I could shoot .357 out of this thing all day long and it wouldn't hurt it. This is a tough gun and a great shooter. If you think you want one you owe it to yourself to have it. Mine serves as home protection for the wife while I'm gone. And, she can use it. :image035:

Forgot to add that I shoot .38 for range work most of the time. Now and again it is fun to run .357 about dusk or so and watch the fireball. If running .38's you just have to be careful to clean your cylinder really good to remove the carbon ring in each hole. The ring can make using .357 a little sticky and tricky if left to build up.

Yeah, pretty much mirrors what I had hoped for. The cylinder lock up really isn't an issue for me gaowlpoop as its made that way on purpose, just like Glock tolerances are so loose. If it was a problem there would be horror stories galore I would imagine.

The 4" barrel just has all the right proportions in its appearance. This would be one of my "fun" guns as opposed to a concealed carry piece. Of course, that's not to say there wouldn't be some occasional open carry if the situation called for it.

The Ruger GP100 4" .357 in stainless just calls to me. I have been keeping my eyes open for one for quite a while but haven't come across any good deals on used ones yet, which probably means I am just going to get one new. I am hoping that since there aren't a lot on the used market, this means that people tend to hold on to them since they like them so much. I became fond of Ruger revolvers after firing my uncle's Super Redhawk .44, however I don't really want something that large.

That looks to be a very solid revolver!

There was a time when lock up on revolvers was a big deal, not so much anymore. Lots of new revolvers have lose lockup.

The Ruger GP-100 is probably the best large frame .357 available today in my opinion.

Love the Security Six 4in. Blue 151 Pre Fix 1975. Locks up tight, Minimal end
shake & .006 Cylinder Gap. Had a diet of more .357 than 38s, Can hit 10 ring

The GP-100 has been on my wish list for quite a while now.

My favorite wheel gun and the one I shoot the best. So, that is the reason it is the revolver that I carry as primary when I carry a revolver.
Hard to go wrong with one of these. Stainless Rugers have lured me for some time.
Yes, I shoot 38 specials out of it for fun and plinking but, shoot some carry loads to make sure I am up to speed with it.
If you go with a Smith, you have done well also! Nothing wrong with a 686!
