    Virginia Question

I heard from two different individuals that at the Nisan Pavillion even a LEO cannot carry.

That makes absolutely NO SENSE to me, but one swore that he saw a uniformed State Hwy Patrolman turn in his pistol at the entrance before he was allowed to proceed into the grounds.

    Anyone confirm or deny?

Yes, but is there a metal detector? Unless that is so, I'd just carry w/o anyone knowing it.

I can't imagine any LEO giving up his/her firearm anywhere. I don't think they could enforce it with LEO, but I'm not a lawyer and according to my wife I have been wrong on more than one occasion.

If any private property owner could make that stipulation to LEO, the drug houses would all be posted accordingly.

I was thinking on-duty. If an officer is in uniform, how would anyone know he is off-duty?

They could bar an on-duty LEO who did not have a warrant or where there were not "the exigencies of the situation made that course imperative."

    See: McDonald v. United States, 335 U.S. 451, 456 (1948).

    and

So an on-duty LEO can walk in a waffle house posted with a no weapons sign and he would be obligated to leave his weapon or leave entirely if asked? Why wouldn't drug dealers just set-up shop in a diner as a front and ban all weapons and police and sell their crap like an old timey drug store? No warrant, no worries. I guess in the town I live in (just down the street from you DaveH), I just can't imagine it happening that way. The LEOs would probably laugh so hard they would hardly be able to get the cuffs on the person that said it before they took them for a little ride in the car.
