Talking I went shopping with the kids this week...

I'm taking my 2 oldest to a course with me in July. I had planned on taking my son but last week my oldest daughter (18) told me she really wanted to go. She has done a bit of shooting here and there but that's about all the interest she's shown. I was suprised and about as happy as a dad can be.
The bad part was I didn't have anything suitable for her to use. My son was going to use my G19 while I used my G30. No wheelguns in this class and 9mm & up so it was shopping time. I figured I might as well get my son (16) something he prefers as well. In the end, they both chose plastic 9s with a bit of differences. I can't wait for July!

Good for you and better for your kids. Both of my daughters took a basic course after my suggestion. They were going to be Elementry School Teachers, and I felt that it would be best that they know the proper way to handle a firearm, just in case little Jonny brought a gun to school for show and tell.

My daughter picked the M&P 9c and my son, the funky green G17. I hate to admit it but the green is growing on me.

I thought she'd end up with a G19 after shooting mine the last few years. Nope! She loves that M&P and after yesterday's trip to the range, I think she made a good choice.

I'm sure your son will love his Glock 17 just as much as I do. A Glock 17 was my first love and I'm so happy I have another one in my life.
