    Cz82 help

I bought a cz 82 for a refinishing project. Read many threads on the web about complete disassemble and reassembly, so assume it was capable. I re-blued it, looked beautiful. Reassembled the entire thing except for the sear spring. Can't figure it out. Took it to a local gunsmith, and he just called to say it was impossible. Is this normal?

Not impossible. This site may give you the info you need. I also believe Old Vet has torn his down and reassembled it. He may be able to assist.

Yep, did two of them--multiple times. It can be tedious (very tedious!), but simple once figured out. I invented a whole new set of cuss words. Go get your CZ back from the smith. The local one here can't figure them out either. He swears it can't be accurate because it doesn't have any rifling!

You're probably not pushing down enough on the sear spring (or straight) while sliding the hammer forward.

Here's a couple of sites that will show you the way. Both are slightly different, but either will work:

Plus you'll want some nice grips from Marschels:

    Marschalgrips.com

Might as well get new springs:
    Springs for CZ 82 & 83 Semi-Auto Pistols
I found the stock recoil spring and hammer spring to be noticeably shorter than the Wolff replacement. I ordered the 3-spring set.

You'll love the little pistol. Honestly the most pleasant and fun gun to shoot I've ever held. PM if you still need help. I'll give you my Phone # and see what I can do.
