Frame Backstrap Texturing

Hello everyone,

I've been curious about this for a while, now, but just never got up the nerve to ask. What benefit do you get from texturing the backstrap of a gun, specifically guns where the backstrap is part of the steel/aluminum/alloy frame? Obviously it would increase grip, but is there a preferred kind of texture? What kind of grip issues does it help correct? Are there times when you should have it and times you shouldn't? Any info in general would be appreciated. Thanks!

Grip "feel" is one of the most subjective issues in all of hand gunning. There is really no one correct answer to your questions.

My one suggestion would be to find a gun that "fits" you and then if you want to change the grippiness of the gun get some skateboard tape and experiment for yourself.
