It sure isn't the 1911's we trained on in 1983. I think it might be a Springfield XD, it looks too tall to be an M&P and the front doesn't look like a Glock. This photo was taken during plebe weapons familiarization training.

Definitely no XD as it has a hammer, I'm bad at this game and it is kind of hard for me to tell from that pic, but I'd guess that it is a Sig P226 if anything.
I think it's a Sig 228. I don't think those slides are as long as a 226.

Definitely a Sig, perhaps a 229 or 228.

Why is her ear and eye protection on the bench instead of on her head and face?
Looks like a SIG more than anything to me. But what do I know... I've never owned one.
I have though looked at tons of them in my quest to find the right one for purchase.
